Serengeti national park is among the popular safari destinations in northern Tanzania and the national park is known for the wildebeest migration.

Here a large school of hippos is always found dipping in the pool to cool off the temperatures.
7.Grumeti river .
This is a popular spectacular attraction especially during the periods of the wildebeest migration as millions of beasts cross over to Masai Mara.. This river has so many crocodiles so the crossing is a survival for the fittest as crocodiles attack and eat the beasts.
This river provides the ultimate views of the Serengeti. The valley is endowed with unique fauna and flora and not forgetting the gorges, rivers , mountains and animals.

Serengeti national park can be accessed by road and also by flight.
By road;
Serengeti national park can be accessed from Arusha town and the drive takes about 7 hours.
Serengeti national park can also be accessed from Kenya via the Isebania border especially for Kenya and Tanzania safaris.
By flight;
There are different airstrips in Serengeti national park where flights land and these include Seronera, Lobo, Kogatende, Kirawira, Grumeti, Sasakwa, Kusini and Ndutu. These airstrips are located in different parts of the national park.
BEST TIME TO VISIT SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Safaris in Serengeti national park take place throughout the year and the best time to visit is during the dry season which takes place around June to October and also around December to February.
The wildebeest migration takes place annually in Serengeti national park during different months of the year.
In northern Serengeti the wildebeest migration can be seen around August to October.
In central Serengeti the wildebeest migration takes place around April and May.
In southern Serengeti the wildebeest migration takes place around December to march which is time for the calving season.
Around June and July, the wildebeest herds can be seen in the western part of Serengeti national park.
