The Batwa Community Experience
The Batwa local community that has a unique cultural experience to share with visitors travelling to Kisoro surrounds Mgahinga National Park. The Batwa are hunters and not to forgetting the Bafumbira who are primarily farmers
Mgahinga hiking
The peak Mgahinga has three volcanic peaks, Muhabura (4127m), Sabyinyo (3669m) and Mgahinga (3474m). These can all be climbed. Though no specialist equipment is required, a reasonable level of fitness is necessary if you intend to enjoy the experience.
Golden Monkey tracking
The activity takes about 4 hours per session during which you are allowed the opportunity to view and take photos of the primates before heading back to your lodge or camp. The habituated family of these monkeys has grown fond of people and is less evasive of human presence in their sanctuary
