DAY 1 ARRIVAL AT KIGALI AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK.
On arrival a driver from wilderness trips will meet you at Kigali airport for transfer to Volcanoes national park. This will be an awesome leisurely drive with lots of sightseeing of gentle hills rolling by, the reason why Rwanda is called the land of a thousand hills.

DAY 2 GORILLA TREKKING IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast loaded with your packed lunch, charged cameras and gorilla tracking out fit, your safari guide will transport you to the park headquarters at Kinigi for a short briefing about gorilla trekking.
While in search of the mountain gorillas enjoy the hike through the natural forest as you get to learn about the different species of plants and animals that make this park a home for mountain gorillas. After meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed an hour to observe and photograph them as they go about their daily routine.
Head back to the starting point where your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to the lodge

DAY 3 GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING AND VISIT OF DIAN FOSSEYS GRAVE
After an early breakfast you will head back to the park headquarters for briefing, but this time about the Golden Monkeys. Golden monkeys are listed as endangered and Volcanoes national park currently has two habituated golden monkeys’ troops that are available for visiting by tourists in the park, both of which make about 80 members and live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes. The golden monkeys have overcome their shyness to accept visitors due to the habituation and once you have found them you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence.
After your golden monkey trekking experience the rangers will guide you to Diane Fosseys grave an American primatologist and conservationist known who dedicated her life to study about gorillas and fought hard for their conservation till she was murdered.

DAY 4 TRANSFER TO LAKE KIVU

Today you have an option for a city tour to visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site and the local handicrafts market, and then proceed to the airport for a scheduled flight back home.
